The heavy rainfall has damaged roads, houses, water conservancy and power facilities in the city to varying degrees. The headquarters have activated a level IV emergency response for floods, the lowest of the four-tier system. Downpours lashed Chengdu, the provincial capital, Meishan city and other localities in the province from 8:00 p.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. The maximum rainfall reached 447.5 millimeters, which was monitored in Lushan.
