The Mexican military barged into this home in Culiacán, Sinaloa, the early morning of February 17, 2004, in hopes of arresting El Chapo. All of the homes are still furnished with television sets, washing and drying machines, microwaves and exercise machines that El Chapo used while on the run. After escaping from prison in September 2001, El Chapo moved around six houses in Culiacán, Sinaloa, that were connected by a complex underground tunnel system. El Chapo is today is serving a life sentence at a super-maximum security prison in Colorado, following a high-profile trial in New York. The Administration of Property and Disposal Service [SAE] is handling the auction sale of six houses that once were owned by El Chapo, including this home, valued at $73,648.
