Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said six fire engines and several firefighters headed to the fire on Loffhagen Drive, Waipara at 3.10pm on Friday. A house next to Waipara School was "well involved" in fire on arrival, he said. The blaze was not threatening the school or surrounding properties.
