Authorities said an adult died in the fire but six children, siblings ranging from very young to teenagers, escaped. Around 6 a.m., a car was found submerged in Silver Lake in Highland, Illinois, about 16 miles from where the house burned. Rescuers administered CPR and the child was taken to an undisclosed St. Louis hospital. Brad Menz said the car appeared to have rolled down a hillside into the lake near Illinois Route 143. Campbell has seven children, authorities said.
