Police have arrested six members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Rajshahi’s Bagmara upazila a number of whom were close aides of the executed JMB leader Siddikur Rahman alias Bangla Bhai. Abul Hossain, 55, Lutfor Rahman, 48, Abdul Mannan, 45, Rohidul Islam, 43, Abdur Rashid, 34, and Abdus Sattar, 28 were arrested from different parts of Bagrama upazila on Friday and Saturday, he said. JMB flourished under Bangla Bhai, the second-in-command of the terrorist group, in the north-western districts, carrying out bombing and other terrorist activities. The three others are Ataur Rahman Sunny, Abdul Awal Molla alias Omar alias Shakil Ahmed and Amjad Hossain alias Khalid Saifullah. Bangla Bhai’s second-in-command Mahtab Khamaru was arrested for the fourth time in September last year while Bangla Bhai’s advisor Lutfor Rahman Pramanik alias Professor Lutfor was arrested in August 2015.
