Six "Customs-made” labradors begin training

The Customs Canine Force bred their first batch of six labradors this July and has begun basic training. They will receive their 10-week detection training after the age of one year to decide which type of “job” they will be offered. Ida Ng Kit-ching, an assistant commissioner at customs said they have ceased importing detection dogs from overseas amid the pandemic. “We have opened our own breeding center and teamed up with local universities to offer canine breeding courses tailor-made for local law enforcement agencies. This will benefit the development of our Canine Force in the long run,” Ng added.
