An 'extramarital affair' between Akram's wife and ex-SP Babul was the cause behind the murder, they said. Akram's five sisters made the allegation at a press conference in Jhenaidah Press Club on Friday. Akram's sister Jannat Ara Parveen Rini said the 'affair' between Babul and Borni developed when they were in Khulna during their fathers' posting there. Borni married Akram in 2005 while Babul wedded Mahmuda Aktar Mitu, who was murdered in Chittagong on Jun 5 last year. Akram's sisters Rehana Alam Gini, Ferdous Ara Chini, Shanaz Parveen Ripa, and Shamima Nasrin Mukti were also present at the conference call.
