CAIRO – 1 November 2020: President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed to continue providing all production requirements of raw materials, wood, machinery and modern equipment to Damietta Furniture City to become an integrated and specialized center in the furniture industry within an organized institutional framework, according to the most advanced international designs and advanced production lines. Egypt's Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said in a statement, Sunday, that President Sisi’s orders aim to meet Egypt’s local need and open the horizons for exporting furniture to the African and Arab geographical surroundings, which supports the investment opportunities for the city, and enhances the industrial character of the furniture industry in Damietta Governorate. Rady added that it also provides more direct and indirect job opportunities for the people of the governorate. Rady added that the meeting dealt with following up on "developments in Damietta Furniture City, and the development of the furniture industry in Egypt." In this context, the President was briefed on Damietta Governorate's action plan to develop its furniture industry, the current situation of Damietta Furniture City and its industrial zone, a complex of complementary industries, workshops of various types and sizes, hangars, exhibition complexes and services.
