"He was accompanied by Minister of Defense Sadek Sobhi and a number of military personnel and Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam.Egypt's Armed Forces annually celebrate Martyr's Day in memory of former military chief of the staff Abd El-Moneim Riad, who along with a number of military forces were targeted by Israeli mortars on March 9, 1969 during the War of Attrition (1967- 1970) between the Arabs and Israel.Last year, President Sisi also celebrated the Martyr's Day in Tantawy Mosque, praising the military and security people who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.
