Sisi, UAE army chief of staff agree to intensify Egyptian-Emirati coordination on military cooperation


CAIRO - 15 June 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has agreed with Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, on the need to intensify regular coordination and consultations between the two countries regarding security and military cooperation. Rumaithi for his part conveyed the greetings of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed to President Sisi, expressing appreciation for the historic and deep relations binding Egypt and UAE, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement. The Emirati army chief of staff also affirmed UAE’s keenness to enhance strategic cooperation with Egypt at all levels, especially with regard to exchanging expertise in the military field. This is in addition to UAE’s keenness on continuing joint work and intensified coordination with Egypt on regional and international issues, Rumaithi affirmed. On the economic side, Egypt, UAE, and Jordan launched last month the “Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development” as per which the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ) will allocate an investment fund of $10 billion.
