The Psychiatry Unit at the Internal Medicine Department of Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte has marked World Autism Awareness Day, observed annually on 2 April, as part of efforts to raise public awareness of autism spectrum disorder and support affected children and their families. The event, held at Dr Abdulqader Al-Omari Hall, was attended by senior hospital officials and medical staff. It featured a series of lectures on autism spectrum disorder, focusing on early detection and appropriate ways of interacting with and supporting affected children. The initiatives also aimed to promote awareness, acceptance and inclusion, helping to improve the quality of life for children with autism and enable their active participation in society.
