Image: Newsline / CCCChristchurch City Council has given the green light for a new sports centre to be built at South Hagley Park. The centre will have improved indoor community facilities, including changing rooms and toilets. The Canterbury Cricket Trust will be responsible for the new build. The changing facilities will be available to support international sports events, including the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. The city council has also supported a new building name - the Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre.
