Thousands of aviation industry workers here will be made redundant in the near future, according to Siptu. Dublin Airport Authority is seeking between 750 to 1000 redundancies in Dublin and Cork airports and has offered a voluntary severance scheme to workers. In May 2020:• Dublin Airport recorded 2,319 flights, an 89.4% decrease on May 2019• Cork Airport traffic saw 260 movements, down 95.3% on May 2019. On the expected numbers of passengers using the airport this year and next, Dublin Airport achieved a record high of 32.6 million passengers in 2019. It is estimated that Dublin Airport will have 8 million passengers this year and 21 million passengers in 2021.
