Asked whether the rumor was true that he would apologize for preferring a dog over Mr. Browne, who has been tipped to be retained, Rep. Sloh said: “False, misleading, no iota of truth. I stand by my statement that I will put a necktie on a dog and take it to the Administrative Building in Greenville to serve as superintendent if the only person Sinoe County has for the superintendent job is Prosper Brown.”Mr. Browne served as superintendent for Sinoe County from 2015 to 2017. Previously, the long-standing conflict between the Kru and the Sarpo tribes in Sinoe County, which caused an ethnic tension in 2014, was characterized by threats and insults between the county’s Legislators and the local authorities. The Judge mandated the former Sinoe County Superintendent to pay into Government revenue a fine of US$50,000 within a nine-month period or face arrest. Many are hoping that the Sinoe Peace Council, which is headed by Dr. Amos C. Sawyer, would help to defuse tensions.
