Sinner on semifinal collision course with Djokovic at Australian OpenItaly's Jannik Sinner greets Serbia's Novak Djokovic (right) after victory in their men's singles semifinal match on day 13 of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne on January 26, 2024. MELBOURNE, Australia — Jannik Sinner was drawn Thursday against France's Hugo Gaston to start his Australian Open defense and is on a collision course to meet 10-time champion Novak Djokovic in a blockbuster semifinal. If the 24-year-old makes it three in a row he would join Djokovic as the only men in the Open era to do so. Swiatek has won the French Open, US Open and Wimbledon but is yet to go past the semifinals in Melbourne. The Australian Open starts Sunday.
