Police received a call about the car sinking into Papamoa beach at 6.40am on Saturday. Police have confirmed a car found sinking into Papamoa Beach had been reported stolen. A police spokesperson said they received the first reports about the vehicle around 6.40am on Saturday, with the owner arriving later to confirm it had been stolen. No one was in the vehicle and a tow truck was organised to remove the vehicle around 9am.
