PATNA: A 18-month old Rajkumari was abandoned by her biological parents only to be adopted by a South Africa based single mother. She did not have any gender specific requirement apart from the age group between 2 years to 4 years of the child to be adopted by her. Rajkumari who was staying at the specialized adoption agency, Nalanda matched with Lala's parameters and after the legal procedures, she was handed over to Lala. Currently there are eight specialized adoption agency functioning in the state. But due to the court procedures, there are couples who are struggling to adopt a child for the last four years.
