Justin Townes Earle, singer-songwriter of Americana and son of country-rock artist Steve Earle, has died at age 38. Earle had released his eighth album in May 2019, The Saint of Lost Causes, on New West Records. "This is another way I'm my father's son, my form of honesty is brutal honesty," he told CBC's q in 2011. "Sending love and condolences to Steve Earle and the entire family of Justin Townes Earle," wrote country artist Margo Price on Twitter. Singer-songwriter Allison Moorer, who has a son with ex-husband Steve Earle, wrote simply: "Rest, sweetheart."
