Singapore coronavirus cases jump to 43


SINGAPORE: Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed three more cases of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the republic on Sunday night, bringing the tally of infections to 43. It said that one of the new cases is a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man who is a Singapore Work Pass holder and has no recent travel history to China. He is being warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Bernama reported. The other two new cases are Singaporeans who also have no recent travel history to China – although one had visited Malaysia on Jan 26. As for the conditions of the existing 40 cases, the MOH said that six people have fully recovered and were discharged from hospital; while six of the remaining 37 who are still being treated are in critical condition.
