Sindh minister blames governor for COVID-19 spread in Matiari


HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Revenue & Relief Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman has expressed his concern about the spread of the coronavirus due to the Sindh governor’s visit which Zaman said contributed to what was feared. Presiding over a high level meeting with the District Administration through a video link here on Sunday, the minister spoke about the coronavirus situation in district Matiari and explained how he thought the Sindh governor had harmed the people of the area. Addressing the participants, Zaman said that after the Sindh governor’s on April 22, as many as 24 cases of coronavirus were reported in the district which had been free of the virus until then. Further into the online meeting, Zaman was apprised doctors of the district receiving threatening messages. Briefing the meeting, Matiari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ghulam Haider Chandio informed that the authorities were monitoring citizen activity and lifestyle to ensure everyone’s safety and benefit.
