KARACHI: The Sindh government has allocated at least Rs 114.14 billion for the health sector in the budget for the Fiscal Year 2019-20. While presenting the budget, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that health is a high priority with the Sindh government. The monitoring & surveillance of health systems have been strengthened and several multi-disciplinary services like pediatrics cardiology have been added to SIUT; vaccinators’ strength enhanced to 2,768. The health sector is being provided similar allocation as the out-going year of Rs.13.50 billion. 275.00 million to improve the mental health services, maternal and child health care center at Jamshoro with grant assistance of JICA, a 200- bedded hospital has been planned for Sukkur either through PPP framework or through development financing.
