Sports scientist Simon Brundish published a new statistic that refutes recent criticism against the Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah, who is the top scorer in the Premier League. Salah had been criticized for not making enough effort to put pressure on opponents in the last third of the field, which is not true according to the statistic published by Brundish. Brundish confirmed that Salah outperformed all European attackers in that particular part, as he pressed opponents a total of 186 times. That number was tied just one other player – Wout Weghorst, Germany’s Wolfsburg striker.
