Nestled in Northamptonshire, England, Silverstone Circuit has long been the iconic home of Formula 1 racing in the United Kingdom. Silverstone initially hosted the British Grand Prix in 1950, one of the oldest continuously utilized tracks on the Formula One calendar. The Royal Automobile Club held the first British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In the 2000s, Hamilton won his first British Grand Prix by a large margin, 68.5 seconds from Nick Heidfeld’s BMW Sauber.
