Learning by doingIf you speak with any parent at the moment, the most important skill they want their children to learn is computer science. Traditionally, especially in Hong Kong, parents have pushed their children to study ‘safe’ and ‘secure’ careers in Banking, Accounting, and Law. Unlike in the U.S., many Chinese children have already been exposed to computer science by the time they reach preschool. Luckily for Hong Kong, the government are also strong supporters of the mission to enhance computer science education. Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, has regularly mentioned she wants to create more quality job opportunities for young people in the future.
