The series will be titled, simply, Clarice, and will be helmed by Star Trek producer Alex Kurtzman. He will be co-writing alongside Jenny Lumet, who is co-showrunner on CBS’s Star Trek: Discover. It will be a co-production between CBS and MGM, the latter of which owns the rights to the Silence of the Lambs movies. “After more than 20 years of silence, we’re privileged to give voice to one of America’s most enduring heroes — Clarice Starling,” Kurtzman and Lumet said in a joint statement. Her time is now, and always.”Lifetime previously had plans to develop a series focused on Starling, but the project was scrapped.
