Police are investigating an incident where siblings were electrocuted to death in a village in Kandara, Muranga County. When villagers rushed to the scene to help, the siblings had already succumbed to their burns and rushed the mother to a local hospital. Local police and officials from power utility firm Kenya Power have visited the scene to investigate what could have led to the incident. It is still not clear whether a nearby power line fell or the drop line to the brother's house was faulty. Kenyans have been cautioned to report any faulty power lines to the utility firm to avoid such incidents.
