HALIFAX—The Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has been asked by Nova Scotia RCMP to investigate a vehicle collision that left one person with serious injuries on Friday night. The vehicle was driven by a male youth with a female passenger who was not wearing a helmet. The officer then observed the vehicle drive through a controlled construction site, against the flow of traffic, before losing control and hitting a stationary vehicle, RCMP said. The passenger fled on foot and was found behind a building nearby with “serious but non-life threatening injuries.” The driver suffered only minor injuries. SiRT Nova Scotia is responsible for investigating any injuries that occur from police action.
