The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) maintains an updated list of colleges and universities with spaces available. As of May 3, 420 four-year schools and a number of community colleges and international schools are on that list. Others with established deadlines are simply looking to fill their spots and are willing to consider late applications from qualified students. (It helps to remember that despite the hype about the difficulty of getting into college, the majority of American schools accept well over 50% of their applicants.) They exist outside of the fabled image many people often have of a bucolic college on a hill or of being located in a vibrant college town.
