International travel is back on from Monday, what’s the latest? Leaving the UK for a holiday is once again permitted from Monday if you live in England or Scotland. It means the requirement to fill out a “declaration to travel” will be dropped and so too the £5,000 fine that was previously levied on anyone escaping the UK for some sunshine. The government’s initial green list of 12 countries and territories was described as “hugely underwhelming” by those in the travel sector with Portugal, Iceland and Gibraltar the only feasible holiday destinations from May 17.
