Shots fired in Rotorua during gang conflict

Shots were fired in an incident involving rival gang members near a children's playground at a Saturday morning market in Rotorua teeming with shoppers. "Reports from the public were that there was an incident between members of rival gangs, and that shots had been fired. Yesterday afternoon police executed a search warrant at a Rotorua address after receiving information from the public. Rotorua MP Todd McClay said the incident was concerning but was not isolated to Rotorua. "These gang members are skating on thin ice," he said.
