Shots have been fired at the US consulate in Toronto, local police say. Bullets struck the consulate building at around 5.30am Tuesday. No suspect was apprehended but Toronto Police said it found evidence that a gun had been discharged. The consulate sits on University Avenue, a busy thoroughfare leading to Ontario's legislature that has become a regular flashpoint for anti-US protests, including demonstrations over the weekend against the war with Iran.
