Toronto police are searching for a gunman they say targeted a taxi passenger in a shooting near Yonge-Dundas Square overnight. The cab picked up the male passenger at about 2 a.m. near Sherbourne and Dundas Sts., said Acting Staff Sgt. It is unclear if the vehicle was in motion when the shots were fired, or if the shooting occurred just as the passenger got in. “What he was involved in, we have yet to figure that out.”The taxi sped to Yonge-Dundas Square, a few blocks away. Investigators haven’t yet found the passenger or the shooter, though they’re reviewing surveillance footage from the taxi and nearby businesses to identify those involved.
