Several people were in a house on Kaka St in Masterton on Sunday when shots were fired. Police are investigating after shots were fired at a residential address in the Wairarapa while several people were inside the home. Detective senior sergeant Barry Bysouth said police received two reports of gunshots being heard near a Herbert St address in the Wairarapa town of Masterton on Sunday about 7.45pm. Contact newstips@stuff.co.nzPolice arrived at the scene and conducted initial enquiries that day, which included visiting a nearby residential address on Kaka St. There were a number of people inside the property at the time of the shooting, and the consequences could have been “dire” for those present.
