A pre-teen child was nearly hit by a shotgun blast after a man kicked in the porch door of a Winnipeg house then shot through the front door, police say. A 31-year-old man, who police believe was under the influence of methamphetamine, is charged with numerous firearm and break-and-enter offences. The first incident began just after 9 p.m. Monday at a house in the 700 block of Home Street, in the city's West End, police said. The man then went to the second house, in the 600 block of Arlington Street, according to police.
