Luo Zilin made a splash in the world of fashion and modeling in China in 2011 when she was named Miss Universe China. Yet Luo of late has been quietly been stepping up her career comeback in a new direction: Children’s modeling. Later this year, she will bring a group of six or eight children models to New York Fashion Week to help showcase a children’s line by Badgley Mischka. “It’s a big wow,” said Joe Ouaknine, a co-owner of the Badgley Mischka brand, of the New York Fashion Week plan. “It has to do with kids.” Luo is looking to formally open both a training school and agency in Shanghai this year, building on her new success.
