Officials close to the Gulshan attack probe said that the terrorists used the Bashundhara flat as a den to gather tools and discuss their plans. A family of four members rented the four-bed flat in May for Tk22,000 as monthly rent. A carton full of sand found in the flat was supposedly used to store the grenades and bombs, they said. The flat was rented by a middle-aged man in May this year. But his wife was never seen at the flat which the man had abandoned along with his sons just two days before Eid.
