Shkodran Mustafi revealed that he was very annoyed when Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit called him the “king of blunders”. Petit made that statement shortly after the north London derby in March when out-of-favour Mustafi clumsily gave away a penalty that allowed Tottenham to equalise and leave with a point even though they couldn’t produce any significant chances throughout the match. The Gunners legend was surprised to even see the Germany international in Unai Emery’s starting line-up and then criticised his overall performances for the Emirates outfit since his £35million move from Valencia in 2016. Petit said: “I was surprised to see him start. He is the king of blunders.”
