Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, however, has refused to accept Shivpal Yadav’s resignation from the government. The development comes barely hours after Mulayam Singh Yadav managed strike a truce between his son Akhilesh Yadav, and his brother Shivpal Yadav. Signs of a rift within the Samajwadi Party became public when Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday appointed Shivpal Yadav as the party’s state president, replacing Akhilesh Yadav. The final word lies with Mulayam Singh Yadav; no one can challenge him,” Shivpal Yadav had told reporters in Lucknow. Party leaders said Mulayam Singh spoke to Shivpal Yadav and the issue was resolved, keeping in mind the upcoming elections in the state.
