She was signed by Capitol Records in 1972 and released her first album, “Shirley Eikhard,” which won Juno Awards for county female artist of the year in 1973 and 1974, the magazine reported. Eikhard was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2020, according to the Star.
