Livingstone scored an unbeaten 53 of 42 balls despite wickets falling on the other end. For Sultans, Mohammad Abbas picked two wickets but the pick of the bowlers was youngster Mohammad Ilyas who sent three batsmen to the pavilion while just giving away 27 runs. A strong bowling attack from Kings led by Usman Shinwari, who claimed four wickets, restricted Sultans to 118-7 in the first innings. The Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Before this game, Karachi won three of the seven matches played while Multan, at the bottom of the table, won two of the eight matches.
