Shinan: Kimchi-licious

Shinan: Kimchi-licious[Toronto Symphony Orchestra conductor Peter Oundijian works up ana appetite for Japanese-Korean fusion. Ever since Sang Kim opened his simple shoebox of a Yorkville restaurant — softly lit, like an eHarmony dating commercial, or a midnight mass — a crowd with heels and heads, both nice, have been congregating. On one night, consider: TSO conductor (and Eric Idle’s favourite cousin) Peter Oundjian, here taking in the restaurant that is a kind of Korean-Japanese mash-up. On another night, not so long ago: prima ballerina Veronica Tennant, spotted doing some expert dipping of another kind. Similarly spotted: novelist extraordinaire Austin Clarke — winner of the best Giller Prize-winning title ever, The Polished Hoe!
