The party expresses concerns over protests by lawyers and students at the Supreme Court premisesJatiya Samajtantrik Dal, or JaSaD, has said the significance of the Liberation War, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the 7th March speech, and the constitution of independent Bangladesh is not diminished by the 'autocratic rule' of Sheikh Hasina. The statement, signed by JaSaD’s Co-office Secretary Sajjad Hossain Sohag, expressed concern over recent remarks made by government officials regarding the Liberation War and related historical events. “We hope that responsible government officials will be more considerate in their comments about these matters and will respect the national pride associated with the great Liberation War and the struggle for independence,” it said. The party leaders also expressed concern over the protests and ultimatums issued by a group of lawyers and students at the Supreme Court premises. They expressed hope that the student community would play a constructive role in fostering a conducive environment for democracy and justice in the country.
