LAHORE: National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has decided to challenge the government’s decision to place his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) in the Lahore High Court (LHC). Earlier, the interior ministry issued a notification regarding a foreign travel ban on Shehbaz, who is also the president of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N). On Friday, the interior ministry placed the name of Shehbaz Sharif on the no-fly list on the recommendation of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and approval of the federal cabinet. The federal cabinet meeting on Thursday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair, approved the recommendation of NAB to place Shehbaz Sharif’s name in the ECL. The former Punjab chief minister is currently facing two corruption references filed by NAB.
