Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday took a hit at Prime Minister Imran Khan over the regularisation of his Bani Gala resident without mentioning his name. Taking to Twitter, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president replied to PM Imran’s tweet by referring to the regularisation of Bani Gala property. In October 2018, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court had ordered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to regularise all properties located in the Bani Gala area of Islamabad, including the residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said the prime minister would have to initiate the process of regularisation of the area by paying the required fee, recalling that it was Khan himself who had approached the top court with an application regarding illegal constructions in Bani Gala. “Prime Minister Imran Khan should submit the regularisation fee before anyone else,” directed the CJP.
