A Sheepdog named Cap set a new British record after he was sold for nearly 15,000 pounds, 5,500 more than the previous high. The amount was more than 5,500 pounds above the previous record set three years ago. The previous record was 9,240 pounds paid by John Bell, of Howden, East Yorks, for a 15- month-old dog. At his new home Cap will keep on working and will also perform at sheepdog trials. The buyer from Northern Ireland forked out 14,805 pounds for Cap at an auction in the town and intends to keep the dog working and performing in trials.
