Earlier this morning, the Canadian Academy of Recordings Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees for the 2017 Juno Awards, which are the Canadian version of the Grammys. Aside from a few categories specifically reserved for international artists, only Canadian artists are eligible to win Junos. Canadian superstars Drake, The Weeknd and Shawn mendes lead the pack with five nominations each, including many for the biggest categories, such as Album, Single and Artist of the Year. This year, the Juno Awards are set to be held on Ottawa on April 1 and 2. So far, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Ruth B, The Strumbellas and A Tribe Called Red have been announced as performers, with more potentially coming in the next few weeks.
