Divisions have rocked The Nairobi Hospital board over the implementation of the recommendations of a forensic audit that revealed a Sh2.2 billion loss. The report by audit firm Grant Thornton released last week exposed massive financial mismanagement and irregularities at the hospital. The report further cites internal interference with procurement processes and cited a number of messages made between the staff and suppliers. The Star has established that the board is divided right in the middle over efforts to breathe life into the Forensic Investigations into Operations of Nairobi Hospital report aimed at enhancing internal control systems. It says out of 25 debtors contacted, only one responded and disputed the debt per the hospital books.
