Sharp, Toshiba preparing to re-enter India's marketTAIPEI, Taiwan -- Two electronics giants, Sharp Corp. and Toshiba Corp., are planning to revive their business in the market of India, according to an Economic Times report. Eighty percent of the Indian television market is now controlled by three brands — Samsung, LG and Sony. Meanwhile, Skyworth Electronics, the Chinese owners of Toshiba, is also drafting its re-entry strategy for the Indian market. A senior industry executive told The Economic Times that the two brands will enter the Indian market before the holiday season. For the past few months, neither Toshiba nor Sharp was active and they had no supply of inventory.
