The body of BNP leader Iqbal Shikder was found at Shimulia ferry ghat in Lohajang upazila of Munshiganj on Friday afternoon, two days after a speedboat accident which may have claimed his life. The 46-year-old president of the Zanjira upazila unit of BNP in Shariatpur disappeared after attending a meeting on Wednesday evening, said family members who reported him missing on Thursday. “He may have drowned with the speedboat and later could have gotten entangled with a ferry and brought near the ghat,” he said. An eight-year-old victim of the boat capsize died at Mitford Hospital on Wednesday evening. The body of another female victim was later recovered by police from the river.
