LAHORE: The famous Shalimar Garden was not included in ‘List of World Heritage in Danger’ after being reviewed at UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting on Thursday. The 43rd meeting of the committee was held at Baku, Azerbaijan where Provincial Minister Raja Yasir Humayon Sarfraz represented Pakistan. The minister pointed out governmental initiatives, taken to preserve Shalamar Garden, in a good manner that UNESCO didn’t include the garden in ‘List of World Heritage in Danger’. At this occasion, Raja Yasir Humayon said that the heritage committee accepted the stance of Pakistan, which is our success. Pakistan government is taking steps to attract the international visitors, the minister said adding that the Pakistan government has taken initiatives in order to preserve historical heritage.
